Le Ariose Vaghezze di Carlo Milanuzzi

This CD is entirely dedicated to the music of the Early Baroque Italian composer, poet, and organist Carlo Milanuzzi. The fact that Milanuzzi published almost two hundred songs that he collected in nine books entitled Le Ariose Vaghezze testifies that his music had large circulation and was widely known. In contrast to the popularity Milanuzzi’s music enjoyed during his lifetime, today it is practically unknown. This CD is the first recording worldwide that is entirely dedicated to the music of this composer and we hope that with its publication we shall contribute to the rediscovery of one of the most significant Italian musicians of the first half of the 17th century.
